The Work-Oriented Approach (to Information Products) (WOA) is a research-based method that addresses information production and consumption. The focus is on individuals' use and organisations' co-use of information such as reports, studies and models to increase organisations' aggregate utility and improve stakeholder values and economic, social and environmental outcomes. WOA is a natural, neutral, balanced and effective complement to existing practices such as decision-making, knowledge and data management, AI, modelling, situational method development, (enterprise) architecture, value chains and digital product passports that take actual use of information seriously. WOA is constructed for representing and understanding, analysing and designing, evolving, demonstrating, (co-)using, and evaluating organisational use of information.
